Dinner After the Opening

Soo Jin and the gallery staff at Patrick Painter put together a fabulous dinner after John's opening. We dined on the most delicious Mexican food dinner: Chicken Burritos, Cheese Enchiladas, Rice, Beans, Guacamole, Chips, Salad, and Chocolate Cupcakes for dessert. The tables were decorated in the spirit of John's paintings with brown tableclothes, red circles, and green succulent potted plants. It was a truly special night that we will never forget!

Beyond the Horizon - John's Opening!

John's show, "Beyond the Horizon" opened at Patrick Painter Gallery in Santa Monica this past weekend. It was his best show ever and the most beautiful paintings I have ever seen.

The color paletter for our wedding was inspired by this painting, "Flowering Feathers".

Two of John's collectors, Marc and Livia Straus, invited us to their home a few weeks ago in Peekskill to celebrate our engagement. John poses with artist, Jonathan Messe, on Saturday at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art. Jonathan was doing a performance piece that day and the two of them gave an artist's talk afterwards. This museum also happens to have one of John's paintings in their collection!

On the right is a shot of John's studio. These paintings are still in the early stages, but you can already see how colorful and vibrant they are going to be. You can also see how big his paintings are!

This is a really cute picture of John on Macdougal Street in Soho. He took this on his cell phone and sent it to me this afternoon. This picture was taken just around the corner from where we're going to live...where John currently lives. John is standing near the cafe that used to be "La Palette" (one of our favorite places to eat in NY), but is now "Oscar" (a nice cafe, but will never replace La Palette).
