Georgie

Here are some recent pics of the sweetest and cutest beagle in the world! John and I are leaving for South Carolina tomorrow for Thanksgiving and while we're gone, Georgie will be staying at Happy Paws. We'll miss you Georgie!

Georgie Pics

John sent me these cute pictures of Georgie over the phone yesterday. He's taking really good card of her while I'm in Texas.

Georgie loves to give kisses!

She also met another beagle while on a walk with John the other day.

First Pair of Golashes

I got my first pair of golashes a few weeks ago. They're really a neccesity for living in the city with no car when it rains...especially when it's raining during Georgie's walk time! I've had several opportunities to wear them in the last few weeks including today. With my black golashes and tan rain coat, I'm color coordinated with Georgie's fur!

Georgie's Latest Pictures

Here are some of Georgie's latest pictures...

My regal beagle!

John was eating something on the bed and of course, Georgie wanted a taste!

Georgie looks sort of strange in this one, but I like it.

What a cutie!

Just about to fall asleep, but still keeping her eye on me!

My World is a White Frosted Cupcake

Early this morning a snow storm covered New York with white, fluffy frosting.

The fire escape steps outside my window are like chocolate dipped lady fingers with sugar icing.

The Empire State Building stands like a giant popsicle in the distance.
Candy-coated cars sit in a frozen row.

And a sweet-toothed hound wants to gobble up every frosty morsel.

T-shirts Reincarnated

I used some of John's old black and white T-shirts to crochet this bathroom rug last week. The jersey knit fabric is perfect for a bathroom rug...it's soft and cushy beneath bare feet...and of course it's a great place for a napping beagle!

I discovered how to prep the old T-shirts for crochet on my favorite crochet blog, Laughing Purple Goldfish. Believe it or not, this rug only took a few days to complete and I love that it is a reincarnation of John's old T-shirts!

Georgie Naps

My crocheted rainbow blanket has become one of Georgie's favorite napping spots. I think this picture clearly shows how much she loves it because she fell asleep with her face buried deep in the folds. It was so cute!

Georgie's New Sweater

Mid January was REALLY cold in New York...colder than Georgie and I are used to. I noticed all the other dogs in the nieghborhood wearing sweaters and coats and felt bad that I didn't have anything for Georgie to wear but her raincoat (which actually is pretty good when it's snowing). John and I did actually buy her a little coat, but when we brought it home, it didn't fit her round little belly. So, I decided to try crocheting her a sweater, something I've never made before, and surprisingly, it came out pretty cute!

Georgie, the sweetest beagle in the world...

I'm pretty sure that Georgie is the sweetest beagle in the entire world. Why else would I allow her to curl up for a nap on my crocheted blanket?

First Winter Snow in New York

We had our first winter snow on December 19 which was quite beautiful and really exciting for this Texan!
Here's my sweetheart just after our delicious lunch at Silver Spurs where we escaped the frosty weather.
The Time Landscape Park across from Silver Spurs.

This was the most snow Georgie had ever seen in her life. Of course she enjoyed EATING the snow, as she does most other solid substances. Today the world was her snowcone.

Wink If You Want a Cookie

I went to City Girl the other night (my favorite coffee shop in New York) with Georgie for coffee and a ginger cookie. Being the most charming and talented dog in the world, Georgie scored a small piece of cookie by winking at me, instead of the usual old tricks of other dogs like begging or rolling over.

Zen Dog

One does not need treats, squeaky toys, squirrels, or bacon to practice the Art of Peace. Heaven is right where you are standing.

John and Georgie

Here's my sweetheart, smiling near a pretty red berry bush. We were out window shopping together on a chilly afternoon. If you look closely, you can see my reflection in his shades (notice the spot of blue which is my scarf).
A few days later John and I took Georgie to the dog park to play. John and Georgie are in the center of the picture, running together.

Halloween Hound and Democratic Doggie

This is Wrigley, Missy and Stephen's dog. He's dressed up as a king for Halloween because he's the king of the house!

And here is Georgie, our Regal Beagle, who is sporting her Democrat neck tie made by my step mom, Leslie. Georgie has proudly worn this all over the city as a reminder to all Democrats (and Republicans) to "Barack" the vote on election day. Okay, to be fair, "McCain" the vote, if that's your choice, but that just doesn't sound as catchy.

The more pictures I took, the sleepier Georgie seemed to become.

Cupcakes, Crochet, and Georgie

John surprised me the other night with one of my favorites...cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery.
Georgie hanging out in the peachy hallway- her way of letting me know it is time for a walk.
I started crocheting a blanket over the weekend. Here are some pictures showing the stages.
This picture was taken yesterday. I started adding blue today and will finish with purple. John calls it the Frank Stella blanket.

Washington Square Park with Georgie

Georgie and I walked to Washington Square Park today and came across this amazing chalk drawing on the sidewalk.
We also stopped at the dog run so Georgie run around without the leash and mingle with some other dogs.
